Frances Roberson

Born on May 8, 1937 in Dallas Texas, Frances became a product of the Dallas Independent School district where she attended the Julia C Frazier Elementary School. She graduated as her class's Valedictorian from Lincoln High School in 1955. While attending Wiley College in Marshall, Texas she graduated at the top pf her class in 1959. There she met her husband Warnell Roberson.

Frances started teaching at C.F. Elementary School in 1959 for six years before returning to her own Lincoln High School. She became an Physical Education teacher from 1964 to 1971. While there she focused on every aspect of physical education utilizing her love of dance and choreography leading to the creation of the award winning "Purple Flash" Drill team.

In 1965, Mrs. Dee Brock, then Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader Director, recruited their cheerleaders from the area schools. She noticed Frances and the Lincoln High School performances and asked her if she would like to become the Choreographer and Co-Sponsor of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. She accepted Dee's offer as worked along side of her from 1965 to 1972.

Frances retired from education in 1971 and became a devoted stay-at-home Mom.

She passed away peacefully on January 20, 2020 ( Martin Luther King Day ) at the age of 82 .
